Since 2005, SunLife Home Health has strived to provide the best care right in your home. What started out as a non-medical company providing caregiving and companionship services has grown substantially to be the home health service provider you know today. SunLife currently provides Geriatric Care management services, as well as skilled services from licensed clinicians, such as: skilled nurses, physical and occupational therapists, speech therapists and medical social worker services. The company also provides non-medical services that include: caregiving, light housekeeping, meal preparation, bathing assistance and many other helpful services that help keep elders living longer in their homes.
In light of 10 years of excellent service, CEO Rob Murphy, talks about the beginnings of SunLife, the present-day accomplishments, and what’s in store for the company.
What are the company’s mission and goals? Our Mission is to coordinate health care for our patients and customers in an effort to help promote better communication and help prevent people from having acute care episodes. We strive to do so in an efficient and innovative manner, always looking for ways to improve. Each day we ask the golden question, “How can we do this better?”
Who should utilize these services and why? There is a large list of health conditions that would qualify one to use home health services. Most chronic diseases, balance issue and those who would require a taxing effort to leave home would should utilize home health services. A taxing effort to leave home would be as simple as requiring a caregiver, an assistive device like a cane or walker, or one who requires the use of a wheelchair.
Why is the company an important choice to keep in mind? At Sunlife Home Health we provide a comprehensive list of services that include case management, skilled home health, caregiving, monitoring services, services within some independent living facilities, and education. Our licensed clinicians are very caring individuals who have many years of experience in each of their respective disciplines of practice. Our administrative staff is very customer-service oriented and are truly looking at how we can be of service and perform better each day. We have a competent staff that continues to be in learning mode.
What about the company sets it apart from the rest? I believe that what sets us apart from other home health providers is that we are so comprehensive in our approach. In my experience, much of health care operates in silos where information exchange is limited. Our approach is to fill in those gaps through keeping all interested parties informed, providing communication portals to doctors and family members, and by providing a comprehensive list of services that help keep people in their homes safe and by preventing hospitalization and rehospitalization.
What is in Sun Life’s future and what changes can our current patients expect and be excited about? Our goal is to create raving fans; to do that we have to, to provide excellent customer service, high quality care, and provide the best people who are well-trained and experienced. Our educational calendar will soon be posted so one can register online to attend. We are also working toward offering products and services on our website such as medical/dietary products that can help make life simple. I’m very excited about the prospects for our future. Health care is changing fast and much of the health care we know today will begin to be provided in the home. We are perfectly positioned for that to occur and so excited to watch it come to fruition.
